Rafsa 007 Angrite meteorite from the Sahara, Algeria, discovered in 2023, museum-grade, weighing 54 g.
Description from the seller
Angrite meteorites are a very small and scarce group of achondrite meteorites. The main feature that makes them so special is that they are the oldest igneous rocks in the Solar System, with crystallization ages of about 4,550 million years. Angrites are named after the Angra dos Reis meteorite, which fell in Brazil in 1869.
They are a rare group of achondrites composed mainly of augite, with a little olivine, anorthite, and troilite. We are talking about basaltic rocks, often with porosity, with vesicle diameters reaching up to 2.5 cm.
This final cut comes from one of the largest in the world found. It is officially named Rafsa 007, and was discovered in Algeria in 2023. Although it is a meteorite from Northwest Africa, it bears the proper name once the exact coordinates of the place where it was found are known, something uncommon for Sahara meteorites. There are only a few grams of this meteorite in the world, so this specimen is one of the few that will go on sale. Museum-quality in size and condition.
Angrites are a very scarce and highly valued type of meteorites for both collectors and the scientific community. Don’t miss this opportunity. Size and quality for a great collection or museum.
We are members of the leading international associations related to meteorites, and we guarantee lifelong authenticity of all our meteorites and jewelry made from this material. Buy with confidence.

Best regards and our best wishes.
