Murano glass and dark wood pendant lamp dating from the 1960s–1970s, in vintage condition with one E27 fitting, 49 cm wide and deep and 25 cm high, transparent glass, made in Italy (Murano, Venice) and fully functional.
Description from the seller
This splendid Murano glass pendant chandelier, dating from the 1970s/1980s, is a magnificent example of Venetian craftsmanship, featuring the famous hanging system with a spiral cord. The large mouth-blown glass diffuser stands out for its complex, visually striking craftsmanship: the upper part, satin and opalescent, opens downward into a rich and elegant pleated, scalloped and curly fluted shade (the “handkerchief” or “ruffles” effect), enhanced by a suggestive shading in amber and orange tones on the wavy edge, typical of Murano glassmaking tradition. When lit, the glass diffuses light in a warm, natural way, highlighting the ripples, the transparencies, and the liveliness of the colored finish on the edge.
The structure is enhanced by a refined upper connector in turned dark wood, which blends natural, tactile style with the vintage charm of the piece, and by the classic black spiral extendable cord that allows easy height adjustment, making it perfect for lighting a dining table, a kitchen, or a living area.
This piece, iconic of Italian-era production, is in excellent vintage condition, with intact glass, free from chips or runs, and with the natural patina of time on the components that attests to its originality and historic charm. Fully functional and ready to accommodate a standard E27 screw-in bulb, it is a design object of great atmosphere, capable of bringing warmth and a unique touch to both contemporary interiors and retro-styled spaces. The artwork and the light will be shipped with professional, safe, trackable packaging designed to preserve the fragility of the glass. The details and conditions of the lot are visible in the attached photographs, which complete and enrich this description.
