Two-volume French publication on the Browning M1919, titled Mitrailleuse de 7 mm 6 à AIR Americane [Browning M1919], published 1944–1950 by École Militaire Inter-Armes, 25 pages per item, 22 x 13 cm, in good condition.
Description from the seller
A rare World War II specification for the Browning M1919. Used by French soldiers at the Ecole Militaire Inter-Armes, founded in 1942. The military academy in Cherchell (Algeria) officially received the name “École Militaire Interarmes” (EMIA) in 1944. Additionally, another notable directive from the French Army regarding the 7.62 mm U.S.A. Browning from the First Indochina War (1950).
It was the U.S. Army’s primary medium machine gun and was deployed on a large scale in Europe and the Pacific.
Air-cooled: Unlike its predecessor (the water-cooled Browning M1917), the M1919 was air-cooled, which made the weapon lighter and more practical to move. It was the U.S. Army’s main medium machine gun and was deployed on a large scale in Europe and the Pacific.
