Studio Delu. (1976) - Spirou et Fantasio – La Jeep MB

Studio Delu (1976) – Collection: Mechanical Legends – Spirou and Fantasio – The Jeep MB

Shadow Frame 27 × 27 cm – Mixed media – Work signed

With its Mechanical Legends collection, Studio Delu celebrates iconic vehicles from comic books and popular culture.

This creation highlights the Jeep MB from the album The Dictator and the Mushroom, an adventure of Spirou and Fantasio drawn by André Franquin.

Made from a real page of this album, the composition combines the humor of the dialogues, Franquin’s drawings and a miniature collectible. In the foreground, the green Jeep, with Spirou and Fantasio in uniform aboard, extends the drawn scene and brings the vehicle into the space.

The page and the miniature are hand-assembled in an elegant black Shadow Frame. The relief and depth of the frame create a dialogue between the comic and the object, highlighting the vehicle’s details and its characters.

Each Studio Delu creation is made individually. The choice of the page, the miniature and their staging give each work its own character.

At the boundary between comics, sculpture and contemporary art, this creation will appeal to Spirou and Fantasio fans, miniature vehicle enthusiasts and Comic Art collectors.
