“Sera in laguna” is an original oil painting from 1950–1960, of Italian origin and sold with a frame.
Description from the seller
Oil on canvas
Evening in the lagoon
Period: 20th century
Signed Laurenti bottom right
Good overall condition.
Patinated.
Dimensions: 54x68; 36x50 outside the frame
Provenance: noble Palermo family
The work captures a moment of crepuscular quiet in the Venetian lagoon, with traditional sailing boats and fishermen in backlight on a surface of water gilded by the reflections of the setting sun.
The composition shows a superb mastery of late-Impressionist luminism. The brushwork is tactile, fluid and blurred, applied with great chromatic freedom to convey the vibration of the atmosphere and the water, surpassing mere photographic realism in favor of a deep poetic and emotional restitution.
The back of the canvas bears an original period paper cartouche from the gallery "Dipinti Spaca" handwritten, formally certifying the title (Sera in Laguna) and the author (C. Laurenti - Venice).
The frame, contemporaneous, is wooden with a double gold/silver leaf profile and an elegant neutral fabric mat.
Shows very slight and normal signs of time.
Traced shipping with courier
note bene:
The frame is considered as a gift
Any damage caused by transport is not a reason for complaint or cancellation of the sale
