CCCP Sputnik-1 Special Edition automatic men’s watch, reference CP-7021, produced in 2012, with a 43 mm stainless steel case, green dial, brown leather strap, un worn condition with original box and papers.
Description from the seller
CCCP – Sputnik-1 Special Edition – Automatik – Herrenarmbanduhr
For sale is an extraordinary CCCP Special Edition automatic watch, model CP-7021, featuring a design that recalls the history of Soviet spaceflight.
The watch combines a classic stainless steel case with an elaborately designed green-toned dial. Especially striking are the fine vertical lines, the applied Arabic numerals, and the four stars below the CCCP inscription. The brown leather strap with crocodile embossing underscores the elegant vintage look.
A special highlight is the display case back with red-tinted glass, through which parts of the mechanical automatic movement can be seen.
Background story – Sputnik and Soviet spaceflight
On October 4, 1957, the Soviet Union made history with the launch of Sputnik 1. The first artificial satellite reached Earth orbit and ushered in the space age.
The CCCP watch collection draws on this historical era in its design. The Cyrillic inscription Sputnik-1 on the case back explicitly references this milestone.
The designation CCCP corresponds to the Cyrillic initials of the former Soviet Union (USSR). The watch is a modern homage to this history and not an original wristwatch from the Soviet era.
