AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Charming painting by Jacques Tronchet entitled The Poultry Market, depicting a lively market scene under a traditional market hall.

This picturesque composition immerses us in the atmosphere of old-fashioned markets, with its vendors, buyers and poultry arranged on the stalls. The architecture of the hall, the exposed timbers and the colorful facades of the surrounding houses create a vivid and authentic setting.

The warm palette, dominated by ochres, browns and the reds of the roofs, harmoniously contrasts with the highlights that animate the scene. The painter renders the gestures of the figures and the popular atmosphere of this market in a natural way, offering a work full of character and nostalgia.

From his earliest childhood, Jacques Tronchet has been passionate about painting and art in all its forms, his sister Mrs. Ginette-Marie Bernard recalls: “… At the age of five, six years old, he built cardboard cities, he drew, and that love for painting would never leave him…”.

He painted a very large number of works in which we find: the market Place du Château in Tonneins, the quays, the countryside, Saint Germain etc. But he also turned his gaze to the town of Cap Ferret and Saissac in Aude.
