AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Beautiful and authentic chromatic 5-row button accordion from the absolute top brand Paolo Soprani (Castelfidardo, Italy), dating from the 1950s / early 1960s. The instrument is finished in a splendid deep red celluloid with a marble/pearl effect and gold-colored decorative elements on the grill.

The instrument is in a nice, playable vintage condition. The absolute ace of this accordion is the excellent compression: in the air-tightness test it takes longer than 10 seconds for the bellows to fully open without pressing any keys. The bellows and the internal leathers are therefore excellent air-tight and the core of the instrument is very healthy. The instrument plays reasonably well to the touch and the registers/buttons respond smoothly.
Note: Currently one melody key is missing (see photos); this is easily restored by a connoisseur or repairer.

Included accessories:
• Original wooden carrying case: lined with brown skai leather, featuring the very characteristic and rare black-and-white Baroque/Damask interior lining from that period.
• Three vintage lesson books/sheet music: A unique set by the well-known Belgian composer Emile Van Herck (issued by Éditions Hetty Luik and Éditions Jendel Brussels), including the sought-after "Beste der Methoden voor Chromatische Accordeon".

A splendid, historic complete package for the collector or enthusiast of the legendary Paolo Soprani sound.
