Description from the seller
ANDREA RACCAGNI (1921–2005)
Natura ultima – Anni '90
Oil and mixed-media poly-material on canvas – 25 × 25 cm
Unique original artwork by Andrea Raccagni, signed on the front, characterized by an intensely expressive composition and a richly textured, deeply dimensional surface.
On a dark background organic forms emerge and painting layers in tones of yellow ochre, green, orange and brown. The surface features substantial reliefs, overlays of materials, and embedded metallic inserts within the composition, creating a suggestive balance between painting and sculpture.
The distinctive polymeric-mixed technique, evident even in the close-up photographs, gives the work a marked three-dimensionality, enhanced by the color contrasts and the variations of light on the surface.
Natura ultima testifies to the artist's expressive exploration through matter, gesture, and the transformation of natural forms.
