France - Military medal - Two French veterans' and commemorative medals, 1920

• Left side: The Medal of the Union Nationale des Combattants (UNC), founded in 1917 after World War I. The medal shows a French Adrian helmet with the inscription "UNION NATIONALE DES COMBATTANTS" and at the bottom the motto "UNIS COMME AU FRONT" (United as at the front). The ribbon is blue-white-red with two green stripes.
• Right side: A French commemorative or patriotic medal (often related to the republican personification of La Patrie or Marianne with a sword and a Phrygian cap and the inscription "LA PATRIE"), often awarded to defenders or veterans of earlier conflicts (such as 1870-1871 or the World Wars) on a red ribbon with blue‑white borders.
