The natural orange diamonds are very rare. They form through a combination of nitrogen and distortions in the crystal structure. This process occurs at depths between 140 and 190 kilometers in the mantle, under extreme temperature and pressure. The nitrogen inclusions, which can be present in aggregates or individually, are responsible for the orange coloration.
JELLYPSY (www.jellypsy.com) is a multidisciplinary Venetian artist.
His creativity spans from design, especially jewelry design, to poetry, up to visual art. His preferred disciplines in the visual arts are painting and sculpture, in particular glass sculpture that the artist models with great passion and skill.
Famous for his "artist books" that blend painting and poetry, JELLYPSY evokes a visual language always at the boundary between abstract and figurative, where images, when present and clear, are interpreted as "messages from the past," absorbing cultures and languages very different from each other and distant in time.
Art critic Armando Ginesi, to whom JELLYPSY was deeply tied with esteem, defined him as neodadaist for his ability to use, in his paintings and sculptures, heterogeneous materials, often from the past, infusing them with new life as contemporary artworks.
In jewelry design, JELLYPSY likes to infuse many references to classical culture or past civilizations, juxtaposing them with bold contemporary pairings that keep his jewelry always current and usable.
