Description from the seller
In "La custode del tempo", Stefania Ormas offers a work with a strong figurative impact and a deep symbolic charge, perfectly representative of her stylistic signature. The painting sits within a visual research focused on the female universe, on the inner dimension and on the sacredness of memory. At the center of the composition dominates a solemn, almost sacerdotal female figure. The face, framed by an intense dark chestnut mane and characterized by incisive light eyes, fixes directly the viewer. There is no submission nor expectation: the gaze is aware and penetrating, capable of arresting the observer’s frenzy to lead him into a dimension of suspended quiet.
Kept with care and firmness between the hands, the table clock with Roman numerals represents the visual and conceptual core of the work. In the woman’s hands, time ceases to be an inexorable escape: it becomes a value to guard, protect and govern. The figure rises as a guardian of the rhythm of existence, an ideal bridge between memory and the future.
Stefania Ormas, Italian painter, graduated in painting from the International Art School of Terni, has throughout her career exhibited in prestigious institutional venues and galleries both in Italy and abroad. Among the internationally notable exhibition stops are Spain (Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid, Museo Provincial de Guadalajara, Sala Barna and Galería Bernet in Barcelona) and Luxembourg. In Italy she has held exhibitions at historic and museum sites such as Castello Svevo in Barletta, the Museo degli Ipogei di Trinitapoli, and the Domus Sessoriana in Rome.
Her works are listed in private collections in Italy and abroad, confirming her as a sensitive and appreciated voice in the contemporary Italian figurative scene.
The painting will be sent with a certificate of authenticity.
