Joost Verhagen (XX) - At Van Goeree

Joost Verhagen is a Dutch painter, born in 1975 and based in Eindhoven. He is known for his modern landscapes, in which realistic observations are transformed into images with a disquieting, sometimes almost abstract, appearance. He studied classical painting at the Antwerp Art Academy and graduated there in 2019.

Verhagen draws inspiration from landscapes, coastal areas, industrial environments, and places that at first glance seem ordinary or deserted. His work balances between recognizable reality and abstraction.
