AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Giorgio Luxardo 1937- 2019 is a Livorno-born painter characterized by a stylistic benchmark strongly conditioned by Macchiaioli painting. Since 1964 he was part of the famous Gruppo Labronico founded by Gino Romiti in 1920 (the very same master would urge him to devote himself to painting) which brought together a number of post-Macchiaioli artists active in the Livorno area. Among them we recall Renato Natali, who would have a great influence on Giorgio Luxardo’s artistic path.

He is one of the promoters of the Prize of the City of Livorno, better known as the Rotonda Prize, which since 1953 has awarded the best amateur artists and which over the years has seen juries with artists of Carlo Carrà’s caliber.

Giorgio Luxardo has always shown a strong attachment to tradition in his painting, with a wise amalgam of light and color. He loved painting en plein air, portraying on canvas and panel the viewpoints of the Tuscan coast and the Tuscan countryside. His oeuvre also includes still lifes and portraits.

Oil painting on panel signed at the bottom right and on the back as authenticity.

Dimensions of the painting: 20x47; the frame is considered a homage to the work; no complaints regarding the frame will be accepted.

Shipment with traceable express courier.

Careful packaging.
