Description from the seller
Lot of two African wood carvings.
Africa probably Congo and/or Rwanda
Circa 1970s-1980s
• Left statue: A standing figure, Holy Mary in a typcial African style, depicted in a praying posture with hands together. A rosary hangs over her arm. Beautiful warm wood color.
• Right statue: A seated or kneeling figure of a woman tenderly holding a baby in her arms, an image of Mary with the Nativity child (Jesus). Both figures have African facial features.
This piece is signed, and in my view well deserved. Truly stunning depiction of Mary with the infant Jesus in African style.
Dimensions: listed with the photos.

These were taken under artificial light, the color may vary. Mood impressions are shown.
