Description from the seller
Fascinating advertising art manifesto, a 1970s reissue of the famous subject “Ciprie Gi.Vi.Emme” created by the renowned Italian illustrator Loris Riccio. An artwork of extraordinary elegance and sensuality that perfectly embodies the refined spirit of the early decades of the 20th century, straddling Liberty and Art Deco. This sought-after print from the ’70s faithfully reproduces the colors and graphic style of the original composition from around 1920, making it a collectible piece that is accessible and of great decorative impact. The scene presents a sophisticated, stylized female figure standing nude beneath an immense, soft powder puff. The woman is immersed in a suggestive nocturnal atmosphere, where the darkness of the background is interrupted only by delicate reflections on the wet sand and by a sculptural hairstyle that echoes the sphericity of the puff itself. The color palette, playing on strong contrasts between the dark tones of the background and the whiteness of the whites and the pinkish powder hues, enhances the dreamy, intimate, and seductive character of the composition. The sinuously written lettering at the bottom celebrates the historic Milanese perfume and cosmetics brand founded by Giuseppe Visconti di Modrone (Gi.Vi.Emme). An exclusive decorative print, ideal for enriching twentieth-century billboard/poster art collections or for giving any environment a vintage, refined, and classy touch. As visible in the photographic close-up, there is a small tear on the white margin at the top right, which does not affect the illustrated part in any way and can be easily covered or stabilized during framing.
