The Golden age of French sculpture

This is a beautiful and graceful sculpture titled "La Victoire" (The Victory), designed by the world-renowned French artist Auguste Moreau (1834–1917). The statue depicts a winged allegorical figure (the goddess Victoria / Nike) triumphantly holding a laurel wreath in the air and carrying palm branches in her other hand.

Made in France. On the side of the base (fourth photo) is clearly molded the authenticity stamp "FRANCE", which at the time was mandatory for the export market.

Dit is een prachtig en sierlijk sculptuur getiteld "La Victoire" (De Overwinning), ontworpen door de wereldberoemde Franse kunstenaar Auguste Moreau (1834–1917). Het beeld stelt een gevleugelde allegorische figuur voor (de godin Victoria / Niké) die triomfantelijk een laurierkrans in de lucht houdt en palmtakken in haar andere hand draagt.

Gemaakt in Frankrijk. Aan de zijkant van de voet (vierde foto) is heel duidelijk het echtheidsstempel "FRANCE" ingegoten, wat destijds verplicht was voor de exportmarkt.
