Elegant roundel in fine alabaster, delicately carved in bas-relief and mid-relief, depicting a mythological scene of Bacchic character.

The relief shows an interesting contrast between the raised, carefully polished elements and the matte background, animated by an old patina that emphasizes the modeling. Probably Italian or European work in the Neoclassical taste, 19th century, inspired by ancient sculpture and the Renaissance relief tradition.

Presented in its substantial original circular frame in gilded and patinated wood. A fine antique decorative object, with a particularly rich and expressive composition.

Condition: old cracks and restorations visible, compatible with the age and fragility of the material; minor damage and wear. The relief remains complete and presents well.
