The Work: A Provençal landscape bathed in light, vibrant with serenity and imbued with the gentle warmth of summer. In the foreground, generous clumps of lavender in intense shades of violet, mauve and azure line a sunlit path in ochre and golden tones. In the center, a charming stone mas with bright blue shutters stands under the benevolent gaze of majestic cypress trees. In the background, bluish mountains take shape beneath a luminous sky, inviting calm, contemplation and the soft song of cicadas.

Technique: Entirely oil-painted with a painting knife on canvas mounted on a wooden stretcher. Oil paint worked with a knife offers a rich, velvety texture, particularly generous. The impasto sculpts the relief of the lavender bushes, the mas stone and the dynamic verticality of the cypresses, magnificently catching the light.
