Von Wright Brothers
The von Wright brothers were five Finnish brothers, of whom three were well-known artists: Magnus von Wright (1805-1868), Wilhelm von Wright (1810-1887) and Ferdinand von Wright (1822-1906). These ornithologists, scientists, naturalist illustrators and artists were born in Haminalahti near Kuopio, Finland. Magnus and Wilhelm von Wright began the illustrated work Svenska Foglar ('Birds of Sweden') in August 1828. The work was financed by Count Nils Bonde. The project was completed in 1838 and contains 178 lithographs.

The von Wright family is a Swedish and Finnish noble family founded by the Scotsman George Wright, who emigrated from Dundee to Narva in Estonia ruled by Sweden, in the mid-17th century. Wright’s grandchildren (and their descendants) through his son Henrik would have acquired the noble surname particle von Wright.
