Magnificent vintage Guy Laroche brooch – Haute Couture line, 1980s, gold-tone finish.
This superb vintage brooch signed Guy Laroche Paris, from the Haute Couture line of the 1980s, testifies to the sophisticated aesthetics of French haute fashion at the end of the 20th century.
The famous French couturier Guy Laroche was known for his modern, architectural creations, sometimes incorporating ethnic and graphic influences. This brooch is a magnificent example: its central motif evokes a sun disk, beneath which are suspended five small charm-type pendants, imparting movement, originality and character to the jewel.
The gold finish and the meticulous workmanship of the details give this piece a particularly elegant and refined look. It perfectly embodies the glamorous and avant-garde spirit of Parisian fashion in the 1980s.
