For sale is an exceptional and rare Salimbeni music egg made of 925/1000 sterling silver, crafted in Florence.
The egg features green translucent enamel over guilloché engraving and houses inside a high-quality Reuge music movement from Switzerland.
Important: The Salimbeni company has written in writing that the originality of this piece is confirmed based on the photos and the hallmarks. According to Giorgio Salimbeni, such eggs were produced in different colors between about 1975 and 1980. He recalls a production of only about a dozen pieces for the San Francisco Music Box Co.
The hallmark 391 FI confirms the piece was made by Salimbeni, while the hallmark 925 indicates the silver content.
Salimbeni quotes the current retail price of a comparable piece at around €2,500 plus tax.
