Description from the seller
6x Château Sénéjac 2018 - Haut-Médoc (750 ml)
Product Information on Producer Label / Château: Château Sénéjac Denomination of Origin: Appellation Haut-Médoc Contrôlée (Bordeaux, France) Vintage: 2018 Bottling: Mis en Bouteille au Château (bottled at the estate) Ownership: Famille Bignon Cordier (SAS Sénéjac, Proprietor at 33290 Le Pian-Médoc) Alcohol Content: 14% vol. Format: 750 ml (75 cl) Allergen Information: Contains sulfites (Contient des sulfites / Contains sulfites) Certifications: Presence of the HVE logo (Haute Valeur Environnementale - High Environmental Value) Organoleptic SheetTypology: Red Still Wine (Bordeaux Blend) Typical grape variety of the vintage: Majority Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, completed by very small percentages of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Visual Analysis: Deep ruby red, with lively purplish reflections due to the excellent structure of the 2018 vintage. Olfactory Analysis: Rich and complex nose; pronounced notes of black forest fruits (blueberry, blackcurrant, blackberry), hints of sweet spices, vanilla and woody notes integrated with balsamic nuances, graphite and a touch of dried tobacco. Gustative Analysis: On the palate it is structured, full and silky. The tannins are dense but ripe and elegant. It has pronounced freshness and a long finish with an aftertaste of dark fruit and toastings finely shaped by aging in wood.
Recommended Glass and Serving: Bordeaux glass (one large bowl glass with a slightly conical closing to enhance the complex aromas and let the wine aerate). Serving Temperature: 16 - 18 °C. Tip: It is advisable to uncork the bottle about 1-2 hours before consumption or Decant briefly if enjoyed young. Food Pairings: red meats: Florentine steak, peppercorn fillet, roast beef and grilled meats. Game: Roasted duck, duck breast (magret de canard), venison or wild boar stew. Cheeses: Aged hard or semi-hard cheeses (e.g., aged Gouda, Comté, Parmigiano Reggiano). Curiosity about a centuries-old history: The estate dates back to the 16th century (circa 1500), making Château Sénéjac one of the region’s oldest historic properties in Haut-Médoc. The Cordier family’s signature: Since 1999 the property has been owned by the Bignon-Cordier family, previously linked to the historic Château Talbot (Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Julien). An excellent vintage: 2018 in Bordeaux is remembered as an exceptional year, characterized by a rainy spring followed by a hot, sunny summer that allowed perfect phenolic ripening of the grapes.
