Description from the seller
Title: Water Refuge
Technique: Oil on canvas
Size: 90cm x 91 cm
In this painting I explore an interior that moves between the real and the imagined. I’m interested in that feeling of recognizing a space without fully understanding it, as happens with places remembered from a dream.
The composition is organized through large curved shapes and diagonal brushstrokes that cross the surface like translucent fabrics blown by the wind. These shapes intersect with vertical strokes and small horizontal lights, creating depth and a visual journey that invites stopping to notice various details. Some areas retain a certain structure, while others dissolve into the background.
I work with a palette of deep greens, petroleum tones, and grayish hues. On the darker parts appear lighter strokes and transparencies that suggest reflections, folds, and a soft light. The contrast is gentle and allows the movement of the painting to take center stage.
The style leans toward abstraction, though it maintains references to an interior space. The visible brushwork and blurred contours give a sense of movement, as if the scene were slowly changing before us.
With this work I seek to convey calm, intimacy, and a touch of mystery. I don’t want to tell a closed story, but rather leave an open space for each person to find their own images and sensations.
I am a graduate in Plastic Arts with more than 14 years of experience in the artistic field. Throughout my career I have participated in various exhibitions and projects, consolidating a creative path in constant evolution.
Some of these exhibitions include:
2024- Points of View, Alma Gallery, Málaga, Spain
2022- International Art and Design Fair “FIABCN” Museu Marítim de Barcelona (MMB), Barcelona, Spain
2021- 2nd Edition of the International Art Fair “Bada Mx”, Campo Marte, DF, Mexico City
