Description from the seller

Title: Winter Landscape
ㅤ
School: Olot School / Catalan School (20th century)
ㅤ
Author: Joaquim Marsillach i Codony (1905–1986)
ㅤ
Style: Impressionist landscape painting with realist influence
ㅤ
Technique: Oil on canvas
ㅤ
State: Good overall condition for its age.
ㅤ
Circle and artistic influence:
Joaquim Marsillach developed his production within the landscape tradition of the Olot School, incorporating a freer vision closer to impressionism. He trained at the Olot School of Fine Arts and was a pupil of Enric Galwey, Ignasi Mallol and Xavier Nogués. His painting is characterized especially by the interest in nature, the changes of light and a spontaneous brushwork applied to the landscape. Enciclopèdia Catalana
ㅤ
The scene represents a wide rural landscape with an autumnal character. In the foreground there are irregular terrains, low vegetation and trees without leaves, whose vertical trunks rise against the mountains in the background. In the middle area small rural constructions and some human figures can be distinguished, adding scale and liveliness to the landscape.
ㅤ
The palette is structured with ochres, earth tones, muted greens and bluish grays, creating a fresh and slightly melancholic atmosphere. The brushstroke is direct and loose, especially visible in the terrain and vegetation, while the horizon elements are treated with greater synthesis to enhance the sense of depth.
ㅤ
The Olot-born painter Joaquim Marsillach i Codony was born and died in Olot. He began exhibiting in Barcelona in 1935 and focused a significant part of his production on landscape, following the artistic tradition of his hometown with a personal interpretation of an impressionist character. Enciclopèdia Catalana
ㅤ
The work is presented in a golden frame of a classical character, with a wide, richly ornamented molding featuring friezes, vegetal motifs and reliefs in the corners. Its golden finish lends a traditional character in keeping with the landscape theme.
ㅤ
Observations:
The work may incur damage during transport even with proper packaging. In such a case, we will require photographs of the damage to proceed with compensation. Customer satisfaction is always our priority.
ㅤ
Exceptionally, shipping costs may be affected by a surcharge for reasons such as being outside a continental territory, oversized dimensions or weight of the item. PremiArt will in no case cover this surcharge.
ㅤ
The courier that must cross the Swiss border may experience delays far beyond normal, so, if possible to speed up the processing, we will provide the Customs number that is delaying the shipment so the customer can release it and thus reach its destination. Experience has shown us that this is the most effective solution for both parties.
ㅤ
Due to the high volume of shipments it is possible that the order is delayed more than three days for which we apologize and thank you for your patience. Any questions about your order please contact us via internal messaging.
