For sale is an extraordinary and rare Salimbeni music egg made of 925/1000 sterling silver, crafted in Florence.
The egg features green translucent enamel over guilloché engraving and contains inside a high-quality Reuge music movement from Switzerland.
Very important:
The Salimbeni company has certified the originality of this piece in writing based on the photos and the hallmarks. According to Giorgio Salimbeni, such eggs were produced between approximately 1975 and 1980 in different colors. He recalls a production of only about a dozen pieces for the San Francisco Music Box Co.
The hallmark 391 FI confirms the piece was made by Salimbeni, the hallmark 925 indicates the silver content.
Salimbeni states the current retail price of a comparable piece at around €2,500 plus tax.
