Description from the seller
A Japanese cast-iron incense burner, featuring a lid designed with openwork chrysanthemum-petal motifs for the release of smoke, topped by a finial shaped like a chrysanthemum blossom. The body is oblate and adorned with ram-head handles on either side—rendered with a rustic, vivid charm—and rests upon three conical feet. The cast iron possesses a coarse, textured surface with a natural, aged patina, exuding a sense of substantial weight and composure. It is well-suited for use in the practice of *kōdō* (the way of incense) or as an accent for a tea setting. Please refer to the actual photographs for details regarding its condition.
