Lot of 2 antique and vintage iron money boxes with original keys - Art Deco & 19th century
Description:
Beautiful set of two different, historical money chests/safes from different eras. Both chests are unique because they still have their original, working keys. The locking mechanism of both objects functions properly.
1. Large money chest (Art Deco / Mid-Century, ca. 1930-1950)
• Executed in the iconic black-gray crackle/hammered lacquer, in very neat vintage condition.
• Inside finished in classic dark red lacquer.
• Includes the rare, original removable metal coin tray with compartments.
• Equipped with a bright, chrome-plated handle.
• Dimensions: 20 x 15 x 7 cm. Weight: 2000 g
2. Small money chest (Hand-forged antique, 19th century, ca. 1850)
• Very solid, heavy sheet-iron chest with a beautiful, authentic bare iron patina on the exterior.
• Characterized by a very finely forged, decorative handle with baluster details on the lid.
• Includes the rare, original handmade ring-head key.
• The interior has largely lost the red paint over time, which enhances the rugged, historical look.
• Dimensions: 14 x 10 x 5 cm. Weight: 1475 g
A unique opportunity for collectors of antique locks, safes, or enthusiasts of industrial/brocante interiors. The lot will be packed with utmost care and shipped worldwide with Track & Trace.
