Very special collar made of polished oval pieces composed of:
- Natural Brazilian Onyx - FIRST QUALITY
The beads are strung on a thread of quality silk/cotton blend with a knot in each piece.
The relation of black onyx with Christianity is based mainly on its biblical mentions in the Old Testament, where it is described as a stone of great sacred value, as well as in its subsequent theological symbolism and use in liturgy.
Throughout the history of the Church, theologians and biblical scholars have interpreted onyx under mystical symbolism:
Firmness and Resistance: Because of its hardness and solidity, Christianity adopted onyx as a symbol of spiritual strength, perseverance in faith and resistance to temptations. It evokes the idea of leaning on God as an unchanging rock
Justice and Humility: As a chalcedony stone that often interleaves dark and light layers (white and black), some interpreters of the paleochristian era saw in it the duality of the believer: the sobriety or darkness of the earthly human condition united with the light of divine grace
