Two clarinets from the United Kingdom, Edgware and Corton brands, dating to around 1950, in very good condition and tested as functional, including a mouthpiece, with a total weight of 4 kg.
Description from the seller
This week I present to you these two superb clarinets, fully restored to British patent. They are a Boosey & Hawkes and a Corton (made in the old Czechoslovakia by Amati for Corton). They have no dents or cracks... only a few minimal marks of no importance but due to age... unbeatable I assure you. New pads have been installed (I never worry about different tones or whether they come from different brands; the quality is overseen by me). Also checked is the precision and playability of all the keys and, as I say in these cases..., they are perfectly adjusted, with no leaks. A joy. Of the B&H, model “Edgware” just note that the two tenons do not have the same serial number... but tuning and sustain are perfect and even better than some professional B&H that I have sold and own. From the serial numbers of both tenons I estimate they date from late 1940s to early 1950s, by my experience with these jewels that are already hard to find (and even when not restored, there are almost none). The two tenons of the Corton are matching, but in the photos the upper tenon number is a bit blurry; at your home you can view it clearly against the light and you’ll see that the numbers match, nothing more. All the parts of both are ebony except the two bells and the barrel of the B&H. I include them with a British mouthpiece of mid grade, model B&H 593 (2). And that’s all... Note: The barrels and bells of each of them are original. I ship them in a double wooden case with reinforced corners and the original English case from the emblematic London firm “Boosey Hawkes” which, despite its more than 70 years, still serves to travel to a great home... A collection lot, already restored and/or for enjoying playing like everyone who buys an instrument from “Harbour instruments.” Warm regards from Emilia and Sebastián.
