Lamberto Lamberti was a Brescia-based painter. Still very young, he was a pupil of Angelo Landi and Emilio Pasini. He graduated later from the Moretto School in Brescia. In the city he is still remembered as one of Pasini's most promising pupils, and not forgotten are also some of his participations in group exhibitions such as the Premio del paesaggio bresciano in 1954, before his move to Milan. In 1955 and in 1956 he participated in the Premio Viggiù; he deserves a gold medal as promoter of the «Pro Juventute» exhibition set up in 1968 in the Royal Palace in Milan, where he exhibited Mutilatini. Among the solo exhibitions held, particularly remembered are those in the Galleries: «Vittoria» (Brescia, 1942); «Vanni» (Bergamo, 1950); «Bolzani» (Milan, 1952, 1954); «Gussoni» (Milan, 1957, 59-1965, 67); «Accademia» (Milan, 1959, 1969); «Il Vertice» (Milan, 1969); «Centro bresciano d‘arte» (Brescia, 1969).
Author of landscapes, figures and portraits, he works in the figurative tradition and the prevalent vision is of «old and humble houses under skies of a dense and veiled azure, with around some bare trees» This theme is reflected in numerous paintings appreciated by the public and by critics. The few portraits seen have warm tones, played on browns, with an accurate facial rendering: this sometimes at the expense of the subject’s naturalness, which appears static. Numerous of his works are scattered in Brescia homes, although nowadays Lamberti rarely exhibits in his native city.
