Luis Enrique González, Oro y Escarlata, 2026, oil on canvas (41 × 41 cm, unframed), signed at bottom right, original edition, in excellent condition, depicting a European goldfinch on a branch in a green olive background and vibrant yellow, blue and white accents.
Description from the seller
Luis Enrique González
Gold and Scarlet, 2026
Oil on canvas, 41 × 41 cm (without stretcher)
Signed (lower right)
Includes certificate of authenticity
Fully handmade
Portrait of a European goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis) perched on a small branch, with the body in three-quarters and the head turned to the right. The artist renders with precision the red mask, the white cheek with bluish tones, and the black nape band, contrasting the warm brown back with the black wings edged in white and the bright yellow band. The eye, dark with a small reflection, brings the whole figure to life, and the feet grip the branch naturally.
Against a deep olive-green background, with visible brushwork, yellow-green shoots and leaves, softly out of focus, surround the bird. The branch and body trace an ascending diagonal that guides the gaze to the head. The result is a luminous image, with strong color presence and a spring-like atmosphere.
A decorative, compact-format piece, suitable for an office, a reception area, or a living room.
The work is shipped without a stretcher, rolled and protected in a transport tube, to ensure its preservation. Framed images are for reference only (show how it would look framed); the frame is not included in the sale.
