About Svnder:
After completing his academic studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo, Svnder dedicated himself to painting with a focus on realism and hyperrealism. His work has deep roots in classical techniques, but is guided by a contemporary sensibility that gives poetic depth to every subject. His works explore the emotional weight of silence, stillness, and identity through precise and meticulous execution.
After his academic training he traveled in Europe and around the world, immersing himself in cultures and artistic traditions different to refine his technique further and expand his creative vision. This ongoing path continually enriches his visual language and intensifies its expressive power.
Inspired by the timeless language of the great masters — including Caravaggio, Rembrandt and Vermeer — his gaze blends tradition and modernity in a continuous dialogue between memory, body, and symbol.
The subjects of his works range from religious scenes and sacred figures reinterpretations in a contemporary key, to portraits with strong emotional impact, through mythological creatures, fallen angels, saints, martyrs and allegorical figures. References to classical antiquity, Christian symbolism, Greek myth, and pop culture filtered with irony are not missing. Each composition is built like an image suspended in time, where light and darkness, body and spirit, sacred and profane coexist in a dramatic and deeply human balance.
