Junghans pocket watch – A. Lünser, Berlin – with 24-hour scale – functional

Large historical Junghans pocket watch with an additional dealer signature “A. Lünser, Berlin,” mechanical hand-winding movement, and small seconds at 6 o’clock.

The bright dial features prominent Arabic hour numerals, a black outer minute scale, and an additional red hour designation from 13 to 24. The hour and minute hands, as well as the large hour numerals, are coated with aged luminous material. The small seconds hand shimmers blue.

Inside there is the gold-colored movement with the Junghans star, the movement marking “47G” and the serial number 075725. A hinged inner protective lid covers the movement.

Historical classification:
The design indicates production in the first half of the 20th century. Comparable Junghans pocket watches with the signature “A. Lünser, Berlin” are associated with military observation watches. A specific military use and the exact year of manufacture for this specimen are not documented.

Visually, the watch shows age and wear. Above the 10 o’clock mark there is a noticeable flaking of the dial with exposed substrate. In the surrounding area there are fine hairlines as well as another small defect at the outer edge. The luminous material on the numerals is partially incomplete and unevenly preserved.

The crystal shows scratches and several visible damages or chips around the edge. These are documented in the latest close-up photos.

The case bears scratches, wear, and small nicks, particularly along the opening edges. The inner case surfaces show discoloration. The movement itself presents itself visually comparatively clean.
