Description from the seller
At the Coast – Pines Over the Sea
Walden – Oil on Canvas, signed, in a lavish frame
WORK
Tall, slender pines stand on a hill above a sandy path, the brushwood glowing in autumn colors. Behind them, a wide body of water opens up, silvered in the backlight, with a distant shore and rocks in the haze. Thickly painted with a lively brush, entirely focused on light and mood. Portrait orientation, 69.8 x 60 cm.
THE FRAME
The painting sits in a broad, light-gilded stucco frame in Baroque style with rocaille, floral ornaments, and gilded accents – a splendor frame almost 9.5 cm deep that is itself a visual highlight.
