An antique French bow and stick pin in 18 carat white and yellow gold, with a blue centre stone (likely sapphire) surrounded by diamonds, measuring 6.5 cm and weighing 1.4 g, dating from the Belle Époque around 1850–1900, supplied without a laboratory report and presented in its original case.
Description from the seller
Splendid and refined antique tie pin (stick pin) of high-class French manufacture, dating to the period around the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century (Belle Époque / Late Victorian era).
The decorative element at the top features an extremely detailed circular geometric filigree design. In the center is set a blue stone, probably a sapphire, surrounded by crafted inserts with set small diamonds.
The stem is slender, elongated and polished, perfect for embellishing ties, lapels of jackets, or hats.
The standout feature that drastically increases the lot's collectible value is the presence of its original period case. The case has inside the white silk lining the brand stamped in gold letters:
• "LA RENAISSANCE JOAILLERIE - 149 Bd. de la Martin, PARIS"
The inner base of the housing is covered with sumptuous midnight blue velvet that makes the shine of the gold and the superior details stand out.
Details and Features:
• Type: Tie pin / Collar stick pin
• Origin: Paris, France (Manufacture La Renaissance Joaillerie)
• Era: Late 19th Century / Early 20th Century (Art Nouveau / Belle Époque)
• Material: 18 karat white and yellow gold (tested with a jeweler’s moss or acid test). The stem bears marks that are difficult to read, probably related to the production era.
• Stones: sapphire and pavé diamonds
• Overall dimensions: 6.5 cm in length
• Total weight: 1.4 g
• Conditions: Excellent overall condition considering age. The pin is straight and sturdy. The original box shows very slight and charming wear on the exterior, while the interior fabrics (silk and velvet) are perfectly preserved and maintain vivid colors.
