Subject and Theme:
"BUBBLE GUM ICONS" is an irreverent and vibrant diptych that pits two absolute cinema legends, Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn, against each other in a daily, almost adolescent gesture: inflating a chewing gum bubble.
Their black-and-white faces emerge from walls exploded with graffiti, tags, drips, and bright colors, like old posters covered by the city.

At the center of each portrait, the bubble lights up with neon: bright pink for Marilyn, blue for Audrey. Two lights that transform Hollywood divas into street icons, bold and contemporary, and that dialogue between them as two faces of the same story.

Technique and Creation:
Both works combine artistic print on a rigid support with hand-applied LED neon, tracing the perfect outline of the bubble.
The contrast between the elegance of the black-and-white portraits and the saturation of the graffiti creates a strong visual tension, while the pink and blue lights reflect on the faces and the wall, enveloping the space in a pop, nocturnal atmosphere.
Hanging next to each other, the two works form a balanced, high-impact composition that captures the eye at first glance and continues to reveal details with every look.

Inspiration and Curiosity:
The colors are not random. The pink matches the famous dress worn by Marilyn in "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes,” one of cinema’s most iconic looks. The blue is a homage to "Breakfast at Tiffany's,” the film that crowned Audrey as a style icon for generations.
Seduction and grace, exuberance and elegance: two opposite ways of being a legend that here descend from their pedestal. The bubble replaces the cover-girl smile; irony takes the place of perfection.
