Romain Steppe Antwerp 1859 - 1927. Romain Steppe is known for his marines, seascapes that he painted in a realistic style with an impressionistic touch.
He worked a lot along the banks of the Scheldt, on the Belgian coast and in the Antwerp port. From his marine paintings, his interest in the changing effects of light and the characteristics of sunlight according to the hour, the season and the weather is evident. He later also painted in England, the Netherlands, Italy and France.
He returned to Antwerp in 1887, where in 1888 he became a member of the art association "Als ik Kan", founded by several former students of the Antwerp Academy. He was friends with E. Verhaeren and Isidoor Meyers, often staying in Sint-Amands.

For a suitable fee the painting can possibly also be delivered (in the Netherlands or Belgium)
