BLOCK STUDIO develops an artistic universe at the crossroads of painting, sculpture, and contemporary design. Wood becomes here a true material of expression: cut into multiple geometric shapes, it is painted, worked, then assembled by hand to give rise to three-dimensional graphic compositions.
Each work is built like a small abstract architecture. The wooden pieces cross, overlap and interlock in a game of lines, solids and voids. This accumulation creates different depths and makes the artwork evolve depending on the angle from which it is viewed. Light also participates in the composition, revealing the reliefs and drawing new shadows as the day goes on.
