2012 Aldegheri, Santambrogio Ripasso - Valpolicella DOC - 1 Double Magnum/Jeroboam (3.0L)

This is a precious Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore "Santambrogio" DOC from the 2012 vintage in a 3-liter bottle (Jeroboam format), produced by the historic Cantine Aldegheri in Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella, in the province of Verona. It is presented in its original wooden box.

• Fill level: Neck. Although the bottle is from 2012, the liquid level is excellent and sits perfectly at the neck, a sign of impeccable cork seal over time.
• Label condition: Excellent label. The front paper is intact, free from tears, wine stains, moisture, or inscriptions. The gold logos and text maintain their original luster.
• Capsule condition: Excellent. The thick red wax seal on the top of the cork is completely intact and shows no cracks or breaks. No swellings or signs of a raised or sunken cork are visible.
• Bottle size: 3 Liters (Jeroboam / Double Magnum).
• Bottler: Bottled in the Cellar (Cantine Aldegheri). As confirmed by both the text at the bottom of the label ("Messo in bottiglia da Aldegheri") and the code impressed on the wax seal (VR 506), the wine was fully vinified and packaged at the producer's winery in Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella.
• Wine winery history: Cantine Aldegheri is a historic, family-run operation rooted in the heart of Classical Valpolicella since 1956. The Santambrogio line takes its name from the calcareous, stony hills surrounding the municipality of Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella, an area renowned for producing wines with great extract and notable longevity. Ripasso is made according to the old Veronese tradition, re-fermenting the Valpolicella Classico on the hot, sugar-rich grape skins of Amarone or Recioto in late winter.
• To drink or to keep: To drink. Although the Jeroboam format (3L) slows the wine's evolution relative to the standard 750ml bottle, a 2012 Valpolicella Ripasso has reached its full expressive maturity.
