Original 2012 BioRacer Team Nederland Olympic cycling jersey for KNWU, produced for the London 2012 Games, orange with red‑white‑blue chevrons, new and personally signed by Pim Lighthart, Nikki Terpstra, Lieuwe Westra, Sebastien Langeveld, Robert Geesink and Lars Boom.
Description from the seller
Signed by the following Dutch cyclists: Pim Lighthart, Nikki Terpstra, Lieuwe Westra, Sebastien Langeveld, Robert Geesink and Lars Boom.
This is an original and rare cycling jersey from the Dutch cycling team (KNWU), specially made for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
The shirt has a number of specific features that make it unique:
Design & Features
• Manufacturer: The jersey was produced by the well-known Belgian cycling apparel manufacturer Bioracer. Bioracer and the KNWU have worked closely together for no fewer than 27 years to develop aerodynamic top-level sportswear for the national selections.
• Olympic Logo: On the right chest sits the official logo of NOC*NSF with the text "Olympic Team NL The Netherlands" and the iconic Olympic rings.
• Sponsorship: The main sponsors of the Dutch cycling federation at the time are prominently displayed on the shirt: the KNWU (Koninklijke Nederlandsche Wielren Unie) and Rabobank, which at the time was the principal financial backer of Dutch cycling.
• Colors: The shirt combines the traditional Dutch orange with the red-white-blue stripes of the national flag across the chest and sleeves.
What makes this particular jersey even more special is that it is adorned with several signatures. This type of shirt in 2012 was often worn by or handed to the athletes of the Olympic cycling squad (road cycling, track cycling, or mountain biking), or used for special auctions and partnerships.
