Flor de Abril is an oil on canvas by Luis Enrique González (XX), 2026, 41 × 41 cm, in Realismo depicting a European goldfinch on a flowering branch, signed by hand, original edition from Brazil and post-2020 in good condition, sold by Representante and shipped rolled without a frame; certificate of authenticity is included per description.
Description from the seller
Luis Enrique González
April Flower, 2026
Oil on canvas, 41 × 41 cm (un-stretched)
Signed (lower left)
Includes certificate of authenticity
Completely handmade
Portrait of a European goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis) perched on a flowering branch, in profile, with the head turned to the left. The artist renders the species’ characteristic palette — red mask, white and black bib, brown‑golden back, black wing with a yellow band — with slightly cooler light and a greenish‑gray, loose, atmospheric brushwork background. The cluster of white flowers on which it perches lightens the base of the composition and situates the scene in full spring; the tail, long and diagonal, balances the visual weight of the head.
A decorative piece of compact format, with a more elaborate background treatment than other similarly sized works by the same author.
The work is shipped unframed, rolled and protected in a transport tube to ensure its preservation. Images with frame and matting are for guidance only; neither the frame nor the matting are included in the sale.
