Book B from the series Mœbius / Launier - La Mémoire de l'âme with a double handwritten dedication by Launier and Moebius, EO edition, in very good condition.
Description from the seller
Exceptional and highly sought-after copy of the illustrated novel La Mémoire de l'âme, the fruit of the collaboration between author Jean-Jacques Launier and the legendary illustrator Moebius (Jean Giraud).
Published in co-edition by Stardom and Éditions Anne Carrière in November 2001. This is the true Original Edition (Printed in October 2001, Legal Deposit in November 2001).
Provenance & Dedications (Association Book)
This work comes directly from the personal library of François Baudot (1950-2010), renowned writer, iconic fashion journalist (Elle, Vogue) and major cultural figure in Paris. The book contains a double manuscript and name-dedication on its title page:
1. Dedication by Moebius: “Pour François Baudot Amicalement,” completed with his distinctive graphic and stylized signature.
2. Dedication by Launier: A poetic reflection playing on the palindrome of the word rêver: “le mot rever, ecrit à l'envers ou à l'endroit reste le mot rever... Amicalement.,” signed in the author’s hand.
(Note: There is a very fine handwritten provenance inscription in pencil at the top of the endpaper reading: “Don François Baudot. Novembre 2001”.)
Condition report:
The work is in very good general condition (TBE).
The book block is solid and has been handled with care. The following signs of use are reported transparently:
• Cover (front cover): Excellent overall condition, original colors very fresh. A faint grey mark on the upper right corner, as well as a tiny blue stain (minuscule rubbing or printer ink residue) on the first cover plate.
• Spine & Edges: The spine is straight and clean. A vertical reading crease is visible on the lamination of the edge (mors).
• Pages: The interior is very fresh; white pages are free of nicks or tears, and Moebius’s illustrations retain all their brilliance.
The top edge of the pages shows a slight natural yellowing due to age.
