Description from the seller
Luis Enrique González
Bruma Dorada, 2026
Oil on canvas, 41 × 41 cm (unframed)
Signed (lower right)
Includes certificate of authenticity issued and signed by the artist
Completely handmade
Portrait of a European goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis), perched on a bare stump with its head turned to the right in an alert pose. It is the most detailed piece in the series: the legs, rendered with intense orange-red, are depicted with anatomical precision, and the plumage confidently combines the red mask, the white and black collar, the warm brown back, and the yellow wing band, finished in black and white at the tail.
The background departs from the flat treatment of other pieces in the series: a photographic blur in dark greens and warm purples, with a diffused light spot in the bottom-right corner, adds depth and places the bird in an environment of low, warm light.
A decorative piece of compact format, with the most elaborate finish seen so far in this artist’s series.
The work ships unframed, rolled and protected in a transport tube to ensure its preservation. Framed images are for reference only; the frame is not included in the sale.
