This notable oil-on-canvas composition evokes the mastery of classical Spanish luminism, with a clear inspiration from the emblematic Joaquín Sorolla painting A Walk by the Sea or Leaving the Bath. The scene captures a moment charged with spontaneity and freshness at the seaside, where a young couple or companions interact while wrapping the central figure in a large white sheet to shield her from the wind after the bath. The remarkable treatment of sunlight reflected on the white fabric and the robes stands out, creating a sophisticated play of shadows projected on the golden sand, while the background depicts a stormy sea in cobalt blue and turquoise hues with loose brushstrokes of foam. The richness of the brushwork, the chromatic balance between warm tones of the sand and the cool tones of the water, as well as the elegance of the gilded ornate frame surrounding it, give the piece a classic, timeless character and great collectible value.
