Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Set of two hand-carved and hand-painted wooden duck decoys from Europe, dating to ca. 1970–1980 in a mid-century modern style; the larger figure is 25 cm high with a colourful plumage in yellow, blue, white and terracotta, the smaller 21 cm high in rustic hunter colours (green and dark brown) with ochre accents; both undersides are smooth and unsigned, and both show a vintage patina in good used condition with minor signs of age and stains.
AI-assisted summary
Description from the seller
Offered is a charming pair of hand-carved and hand-painted wooden ducks, executed in the classic style of antique duck decoys. The pieces showcase exquisite artisanal wood carving, with the texture and dynamism of the plumage deeply carved into the wood.
The set consists of two complementary versions:
A larger model (25 cm) with an expressive and vivid plumage in the colors yellow, blue, white, and terracotta. A smaller model (21 cm) in restrained, rustic hunter colors (green and dark brown) with subtle ochre-yellow accents.
The undersides are smoothly finished and show no signatures or stamps. Both ducks are in a fine vintage condition with a light, authentic patina on the paint layer, which contributes to the rustic character. A decorative centerpiece for collectors of folk art or enthusiasts of a country-style interior.
