Description from the seller

Beautiful naïve painting 'Risques à Deux' by André Teleki – Oil on canvas, Switzerland, 1973

Teleki belongs to the generation of post-war Swiss artists who combined form and color in a very personal way. His paintings are figurative, colorful and ardently warm in tone, with much attention to human figures and poetic scenes. The works exude optimism, humanity and lyricism. Thanks to his numerous exhibitions and presence in Swiss museum collections, including the Musée d'Art et d'Histoire in Geneva, and his regular strong sales at Swiss auctions, Teleki enjoys a loyal collectors' market. For the city of Geneva, he also created a monumental mural of 125 m².

This work, titled "Risques à Deux", is a wonderful example of Teleki’s naïve art, full of life, full of color.

An animated scene in a park, perhaps Paris: in the center a duo of acrobatic rope dancers floats playfully in the air, as the title also suggests. The woman wears a light pink dress and is carried by a clownish man in a bright orange sweater and striped trousers. They hold a large, ornate pink parasol in balance. In the background we see the characteristic Parisian rooftops against a bright orange sky with a bright yellow sun. In the park there are also two playing figures.

The painting is in excellent condition and is framed in a beautiful classical gold frame with a dark wooden inner edge.

Dimensions inc. frame: H 74.5 x W 85.5
Dimensions excl. frame: H 52.5 x W 63

The work is signed by the artist in red at the lower left, reading “teleki”, and on the back titled "Risques à Deux, a. teleki, 1973".

A truly unique, valuable and powerful naïve artwork with a magnifique and characteristic rendering of André Teleki’s sparkling world, perfectly suited to any classical, design or eclectic interior!

IMPORTANT: Given its value, size and/or fragility, this artwork must be collected!
