This collectible piece stands out for a splendid and unusual combination of materials: the body of the animal, finely molded, is adorned on the back with a saddlecloth in authentic emerald green Murano glass, decorated with flower-murrine inlaid in yellow and white tones. A perfect fusion between Italian silversmithing art and Venetian glassmaking tradition.
On the elephant's hind leg is clearly impressed in relief the punchmark "LAMINATO AG" which attests to its originality and the quality of the coating in pure silver.
The elephant is depicted in a dynamic pose, with the trunk extended upward and the white tusks in contrast. The silver finish is entirely mirror-polished, creating splendid plays of light together with the transparency of Murano glass.
