Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Yamaha TX750 from 1973 with 6,332 km, German registration and TÜV, in very good condition.
Description from the seller
For sale is an exceptionally well-preserved Yamaha TX750 from 1973 with a mileage of only 6,332 km.
First registration: 05/1973
Apart from the paintwork and the described technical improvements, the machine is in remarkably original condition. In particular, it should be noted that no reproduction parts have been installed.
For enthusiasts and collectors, this is, in our view, one of the most important aspects of this motorcycle. It is not a TX750 rebuilt from numerous replica parts, but a vehicle with a great deal of preserved original substance.
Vehicle data
Manufacturer: Yamaha
Model: TX750
First registration: 05/1973
Mileage: 6,332 km
German registration
German TÜV / HU present
Fully functional
Roadworthy
Mostly original condition
No reproduction parts installed
Originality and condition
The TX750 presents itself today in an extraordinarily authentic condition.
Apart from the paint and the consciously implemented technical improvements, the machine is in original condition to our knowledge.
Special emphasis was placed on preserving the original substance of the motorcycle. Replica parts were not installed.
Especially with a motorcycle of this age, this preserved original substance is what gives the vehicle its special charm for us.
Technical details and sensible improvements
Some technical changes were made to the machine that benefit reliability and everyday usability.
The original ignition system was converted to electronic ignition.
In addition, the motorcycle features a retrofit original Yamaha oil cooler.
The TX750 motor is known to run hot historically. Yamaha Europe already reacted in 1973 by adding an oil cooler to reduce thermal load.
The TX offered here therefore already has a corresponding oil cooler retrofit.
Cardridge oil filter kit included
In addition to the motorcycle, a retrofit kit for a cartridge oil filter is included.
The conversion has deliberately not yet been carried out. The future owner can thus decide whether to leave the machine in its current state or perform the available conversion.
That corresponding oil filter adapters for the TX750 are a topic within the TX750 specialist scene is also documented in the IG TX750 technical forum.
Riding condition
The Yamaha is fully functional and roadworthy.
In addition, it has German TÜV / a valid German main inspection.
This is therefore not a pure restoration project, but a rideable classic Yamaha that can be used immediately in its existing condition or kept as a collector’s vehicle.
Highlights at a glance:
- First registration 05/1973
- Original 6,332 km
- Very high proportion of preserved original substance
- No reproduction parts installed
- Different paint finish
- Electronic ignition
- Retrofit original Yamaha oil cooler
- Known technical weak points already considered
- Kit for retrofitting to cartridge oil filter included
- Fully functional
- Roadworthy
- German TÜV / HU
Conclusion:
An interesting opportunity to acquire an early Yamaha TX750 from 1973 with extraordinarily low mileage and remarkably preserved original substance.
In particular, the combination of 6,332 km, absence of reproduction parts, road readiness, and the already implemented technical improvements makes this TX750 particularly interesting.
It is not a heavily restored showroom piece, but an authentic classic whose original substance has largely been preserved and which has already retained several of the technically sensible improvements for this model.

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
