Description from the seller
Guerciotti Vintage - Vintage Racing Bicycle in Steel Campagnolo San Marco Rolls
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
In this auction an iconic and prestigious vintage racing bicycle signed Guerciotti, Milanese excellence and symbol of Italian handcrafted cycling. The steel frame stands out for a bright racing red paint with chromed rear stays and front fork finish. The attention to detail is enhanced by the original Guerciotti pantographs on the fork crown junctions and on the rear stays, as well as the original contrasting decals on the down tube and on the seat tube.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS AND VISIBLE COMPONENTS
The bicycle is equipped with a very high-end Italian-tradition setup. The drivetrain features a Campagnolo Victory/Triomphe vintage rear derailleur, Campagnolo front derailleur, shift levers of the “lightened/holed” type with pantograph/Pat. Campagnolo logo, and a vintage Campagnolo aluminum double-crankset paired with period quick-release pedals. The braking system uses classic brake calipers. The cockpit features a pantographed handlebar stem with a racing bend wrapped in white tape. The saddle is a legendary San Marco Rolls in black leather with vintage metallic details, mounted on an aluminum lightweight seatpost pantographed by Campagnolo. Completing the lot are the metal bottle cage and vintage racing wheels with Nisi aluminum rims.
CONDITION AND RECOMMENDED WORK
As a vintage specimen kept in a collection and stationary for some time, the frame structure and the high-quality components present themselves in generally good condition. It is advisable to perform a quick general service, a cleaning/lubrication of the mechanisms, and a check of the fasteners before tackling road outings or vintage cycling events. Aesthetically it preserves its authentic and fascinating patina, showing physiological and small signs of time, minor surface wear of the paint, and light age patinas on the chrome.
SHIPPING AND PACKING NOTES
The lot will be packed with extreme care and shipped via tracked insured courier. Note that, to ensure safer shipping and reduce package volume, some parts of the bicycle will likely be disassembled, such as pedals, saddle, wheels, and the handlebar will be turned/adjusted.
